Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Summit Card Grading's services. These Terms govern your use of our website and grading services. By submitting cards or using our site, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting cards to Summit Card Grading ("Summit," "we," "us," or "our"), accessing our website, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Grading Services
Summit Card Grading provides professional card grading, authentication, encapsulation, and related services for trading cards and collectibles. All grades issued by Summit represent the professional opinion of our graders at the time of evaluation. Grading is inherently subjective; Summit does not guarantee that any grade will match the expectations of the submitter or any third party. Grades are final once issued and are not subject to appeal except under our formal review process described in Section 6.
3. Submissions & Declared Value
You are responsible for accurately describing and declaring the value of each card submitted. Declared value is used solely for insurance purposes during inbound and outbound shipping. Summit is not liable for losses exceeding the declared value of any card. You represent that you own or have legal authority to submit all cards. Summit reserves the right to refuse any submission at its sole discretion. Cards submitted for grading become the temporary custody of Summit and will be returned to the address provided at submission.
4. Turnaround Times
Turnaround times listed for each service tier are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Summit will make reasonable efforts to meet stated turnaround windows, but delays may occur due to submission volume, holidays, shipping carrier delays, or other factors outside our control. Estimated turnaround times begin when your submission is received and checked in at our facility, not when it is shipped. Summit is not liable for any losses arising from delays in grading or return shipping.
5. Fees & Payment
Grading fees are due at the time of submission or as invoiced. All fees are listed in USD. Summit reserves the right to change pricing at any time; changes will not affect orders already received and checked in. Fees are non-refundable once grading has commenced. In the event of a submission error or service cancellation prior to grading, a partial refund may be issued at Summit's discretion. Additional fees may apply for add-on services such as autograph authentication, reholdering, or crossover grading.
6. Grade Review Policy
If you believe a grade was issued in error due to a clerical mistake (e.g., wrong card information on the label), you may request a review within 30 days of receiving your order. Grade reviews are not available for disagreements with the assigned numeric grade. To request a review, contact us at [email protected] with your cert number and a description of the error. Summit will evaluate the request and respond within 10 business days. If a label error is confirmed, Summit will re-label the slab at no charge.
7. Limitation of Liability
Summit's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the declared value of the card(s) in question. Summit is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of market value, lost profits, or emotional distress. In the event of loss or damage to a card while in Summit's custody, our liability is limited to the declared value stated at submission. Summit strongly recommends accurate declared values for all high-value cards.
8. Shipping & Risk of Loss
Risk of loss passes to Summit upon confirmed receipt at our facility. Risk of loss passes back to you upon handoff to the return shipping carrier. Return shipping is included in all service tiers via USPS Priority Mail. Premium tier orders include full insurance coverage. For Economy and Standard tiers, additional shipping insurance is available at an extra cost. Summit is not responsible for loss or damage caused by shipping carriers once a package has been tendered for return delivery.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Summit Card Grading website, including text, graphics, logos, and the cert registry, is the property of Summit Card Grading and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission. The Summit name, logo, and certification marks may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
10. Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We collect and use your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined therein. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
These Terms of Service were last updated on June 21, 2026. Summit Card Grading reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a notice on our website.
